@shamrock that seems like a lot to cover in 1 video [considering i'm shooting for 5-10 minutes in length]
however for quicker procedures i was thinking of having 'hands-on segments' to break up the purely educational videos, perhaps having the making of growth media in episode 1

For basic techniques I would suggest 1) growing bacteria, 2) killing bacteria, 3) making media, 4) isolating DNA from bacteria (plasmid & genomic), 5) transformation and selection of transformants, 6) waste disposal. You could probably script this into one "episode" .
