Job Title: Technical Operations / DevOps Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 6+ Months

Billing Rate: $DOE/Hour

 

About you:

1.       You are a self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills

2.       You do it all well – work independently, in cross-functional teams, and with all organizational levels

3.       You are responsive and accountable regarding mission critical applications

4.       You have technical aptitude that spans beyond systems administration and is experienced with networks, databases, Hadoop, and datacenter infrastructure.

5.       You are highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized!

6.       You can seamlessly multi-task and effectively manage multiple priorities

7.       You get that it's important to have excellent verbal and written (English) communication skills

 

What you will do:

1.       Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge regarding the capabilities of Client products and services

2.       Collaborate with client Managed Services Provider (MSP) to resolve trouble tickets associated with our operational environment

3.       Develop standard operating procedures to facilitate handling of routine and preventative maintenance associated with our operational environment

4.       Work closely with client Release Engineering team to deploy smoothly new releases of software into our operational environment

5.       Engage with Client partner teams to ensure and maintain smooth integrations, including verification that campaign launches are successful

6.       Manage multiple troubleshooting projects simultaneously, appropriately prioritizing the required work effort

7.       Create new tools to facilitate automated monitoring of client operational environment

8.       Escalate to the Product Management and other Engineering teams any product enhancements needed to improve operations

 

Your skills:

1.       3+ years technical support or professional services experience, with strong communications skills

2.       Working knowledge of Linux Apache, MySQL and Perl (LAMP) technologies

3.       Experience with trouble ticketing procedures and software tools

4.       Demonstrated ability to maintain high service quality in keeping with service level agreements (SLAs), as measured through "time-to-respond," "resolution time", "root cause analyses", and "irrevocable corrective actions"

 

Extra Credit if you have:

1.       Fluency with Linux Apache, MySQL and Perl (LAMP) technologies

2.       Working knowledge of Tomcat and JBoss

3.       Familiarity with IP network configuration and management

4.       Working knowledge of monitoring tools like Nagios
