[DIYbio] Starting a community STEM/STEAM Lab in Texas

Hello! I'm Grace.
I came across DIYBio not too long ago and am so glad I found this group. I have been interested in starting a new community STEM/STEAM Lab in Texas around the RGV area. Preferably Edinburg, McAllen, or Pharr. I will say that I currently don't have much experience in lab work, but am really interested in learning more about STEM/STEAM. If you have any tips or advice regarding to starting up a STEM/STEAM group, acquiring mentors/teachers, acquiring lab equipment, acquiring facilities for your lab, gaining sponsors/donors for your lab, or how to manage your lab, it will be greatly appreciated! And if you are interested in starting and/or joining a STEM/STEAM lab please let me know and leave a comment below!

Re: [DIYbio] Paper published

Yes, first as DIY, I do others regularly as part of my real job in Bioinformatics but that is associated with NIH, sort of the opposite of DIY.

Hi Tom, great read.  Is this your first DIY Bio publication?

Over the years I have heard questions about the lack of DIY Bio people publishing papers.

Here is one that I recently got published.
