Shortly after the end of the war an American mission was sent to Japan, to report on the destruction wrought by the atomic bombs. The mission, organized by the Manhattan Engineer District, included engineers and medical officers and a few scientists. This film portrays some of the devastation they witnessed.

The footage in this particular video is more than incredible, proving the devastation the atom bomb was capable of. Monuments were virtually turned to dust and housing units, that apparently didn't meet zoning laws, barely stand erect.
