Update:
I went back into the university after having an epiphany. Their
ridiculous "IP" policy on strains probably didn't apply to strains as
part of disposable products. So, after asking around for some disposable
B.stearothermophilus ampoules or strips, someone kindly supplied me with
some ampoules.
So, I'm gonna put them in the ol' water-bath-kettle overnight and see if
anything grows! If something does grow, that's another culture
"Jailbroken" for community use; I'd happily share.
