Hi, is there anybody from Ukraine here? There is a possibility to establish DIYbio in Kiev now. There is a friendly lab with all equipment (from PCR - to sequencer) the only thing that is needed is a community who will pay for reagents.
Hey, totally, totally interested!
I was hoping to try out some basic techniques this summer, starting from reliably growing E.coli, to plasmid construction and bacteria transformation, to maybe yeast plasmid construction and transformation, just for the sake of it. But if there's a lab, this plan stars to look rather basic, and I could start thinking about a proper project instead of comparing the cost of used equipment with the cost of building it myself. ;)
I've taken MIT 7.00x on EdX, and spent the last couple weeks reading through Gallagher's "Current protocols" and desperately searching for individual-friendly suppliers on the web. So, again, totally interested!
