Unless there is an air gap this thing is pretty dangerous. If you
want something cheap and safe, check out this:

but that is plenty if you have a small gel box.
Or just get a few 9V batteries and hook them in series. I have got
about 8.5 hours out of 7 9V batteries powering a 15cm gel box with
TAE.
