Role : Network Engineer
Location : Olympia, WA
Duration : 3- 6 months

The right candidate will have experience designing and implementing secure networks, and must be familiar with the threat landscape associated with digital networks. This knowledge will be used to design and implement secure networks for our customer environments. The right candidate will have hands on experience with the products used to implement the secure solution design.

This role requires the Senior Network Engineer/Architect to communicate with the customer's business and Tech Ops teams "in their own languages". The role engages with Tech Ops managers and system engineers, tech writers, security managers and project management. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer/Architect helps ensure that the proposed architecture is consistent with security standards, and all regulatory compliance standards.

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

·         Work with business and development teams to understand and design the network architecture showing how it maps to applications, physical hardware, facilities and, all datacenter locations.

·         Work with the business and Tech Ops to establish requirements and supporting documentation.

·         Establish direction and best practices for the customer's network operations.

·         Design and implement secure customer networks.

·         Work with the business and Tech Ops to propose and help design High Availability and DR redundant solutions.

·         Work with technical writers to document requirements.

·         Ensure architecture follows best practices and meets all requirements for compliance.

Additional Information (e.g. shift resource, % work that is development vs. maintenance, etc.):

·         The position requires the ability to communicate, at a senior technical level, with both the Business Leaders and Technical Operation.

Qualifications:

·        
Education – A technically oriented Bachelor's degree is required (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).

Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:

·         The ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

·         Strong organizational, process, analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Able to prioritize a heavy workload and manage unexpected events

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate through all levels of the organization.

·         10+ years, in technical system and / or software engineering roles for complex organizations.

·         Senior depth and breadth of knowledge across software, systems and networks.
