Description :

SAN Service Delivery Director

US Tier 1 Operations organization is currently seeking a Director of IT Infrastructure (Storage and Backup) to help continue with their strategic growth within the US. This opportunity is for a self-motivated individual who has proven experience as a technical director managing/mentoring large technical delivery teams.

Key Accountabilities  :

·         Technology Management

·         Assess IT Infrastructure Solutions (Identify gaps, Expanding IT Business Strategies)

·         New Product Evaluations

·         Direct Service Team Management Functions

·         Develops/Implements policies, standards, and procedures

·         Planning and Coordination

·         SLA Management

·         Monitoring and Reporting (System Availability, Performance, Capabilities Metrics)

·         Financial Management

·         Budget preparation, development and forecasts

·         Prepare Investment Proposals and Operational Expenses

·         Budget Performance metrics

·         P&L

Qualifications/Skills/Experience :
 

·         10 years' experience with either HDS, EMC, Commvault or Tivoli Storage Manager

·         Broad knowledge of complex IT infrastructure components (Networks, Data Centre's, End user devices, etc.)

·         Understanding of key IT processes including Incident management, change management, configuration management, capacity management,

·         service continuity management and troubleshooting

·         Operations management

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including presentation

·         Organizational skills, time management

·         People management including training and development, relationship building and negotiations

·         Demonstrated leadership of Storage and Backup teams.

·         Demonstrated strategic thinking in previous role.


People Management :

·         Performance management and leadership of the Storage and Backup and Team

·         Daily liaison with IT Senior Executives, VP, internal and external customers

·         Advise Vendor management on hardware/software selection

·         Performance Management and Leadership

·         People Management - Coaching, Counseling, Motivating

Responsibilities :

·         Monitors new developments in storage and backup technologies, changes in business needs, and develops equipment strategy, and plans to strengthen and improve the computing services.

·         Develops and recommends IT Operations policies for adoption and implementation.

·         Manages development of storage and backup data center standards to reduce business operating costs

·         Collaborates with other IT operations teams in the design and implementation of processes which enhance the stability of IT and business operations.

·         Identifies opportunities for ongoing consolidation, virtualization, and efficiency based improvements.

·         Evaluates and recommends tool sets in the storage and backup environment to provide operational support and monitoring.

·         Evaluates and tracks capacity across the storage and backup environments and reports capacity and growth trends to leadership as required.

·         Understands the importance of both the SOX compliance and SSEA16 audits. Insures that the team meets all requirements.

·         Collaborate with Business Engineering teams to ensure the appropriate support model and costs are applied to all equipment and services.

·         Solves problems related to installation, implementation, maintenance, and operations of client infrastructure
