We are currently looking for an    Unix admin-for 6+ months contract opportunity.

Job Title:   Unix admin

Location:   Corning, New York.

Duration:   6+ Months Contract.

Job Description & Required Skills:

·         Experienced in Production Server Environment

·         Handling Data centre operations

·         Strong expertise on LVM OR VXVM

·         High Availability / BCP design, review & implementation, HACMP/VCS/Sun Cluster/RH Cluster

·         Expert in Virtualization technologies (RHEV, VMware)/VIOExpertise on Kick start, YUM, RHNS

·         Good working knowledge of Storage and Backup products

·         Expertise in automation and reduction of manual efforts thru Scripting/tools

·         Good skill on H/W troubleshooting & Vendor coordination

·         Good Skill in Design, Migration and upgradation

·         Good skill in data migration from P2P, P2V, V2V.

·         Depth knowledge to work and explore RCA Problem management & Change management Capacity Management & Configuration management Expertise on Performance Tuning

·         OS hardening

·         Supporting escalated tasks/incidents

·         Documentation skills, SOP

·         Good working knowledge of Shell/Perl Scripting

·         Participating in Change review meetings

·         Mentor rookies and other teammates

·         Participating customer escalation/review

Additional Skills:

·         Server Health Monitoring using enterprise tools,

·         Server Health Monitoring using customized shell scripts Monitoring CPU utilization thru Tools, Monitoring  disk space  quotas,

·         Monitoring File Systems & Quotas Monitoring various Processes(Using ps etc),

·         Monitoring Log files (syslog , messages etc.) Errors Print Queue Monitoring ,

·         Application servers like Web Logic / Web Server Monitoring,

·         Event Monitoring ,

·         Follow Documented  activities (SOP),

·         User Administration,

·         Password management,

·         Monitoring  network performance ,

·         OS install using Jumpstart server  OSChecklist /verification ,using Vi editor
