We are currently looking for a Windows administrator- for a long-term contract opportunity.

Location:  Houston, TX.

Duration:  6-12 Months Contract.

Job Description:

Our client is looking for windows administrator and perform pre-checks on users' desktops to check if they can access applications and launch the new application. Resolve desktop related issues. Raise helpdesk tickets in case 3rd lines support will be required. Contact the Business Analyst Team in case of application logon issues, technical expertise in a defined area and can handle problems/tickets - complex in nature. Serves as escalation point for all issues within a group in a project. Responsible for maintenance and administration, enhancements, following change management policies, report capacity and availability, updating of the ticketing system and KEDB. It is expected to train and mentor junior administrators. Expected to lead the team from transition to delivery and also work with Project manager for Infrastructure projects and SI work. Should engage in Continuous Improvement Projects or SIPs to improve productivity and SLAs. In Package Implementation space: The incumbent leads and manage complex DBA projects, has expertise in new technologies, developments, database and application upgrades. Mentors and groom DBAs.

Skill Set:

·         Knowledge and troubleshooting on Virtual desktop implementation (VDI), building VM's with standardized OS images and different virtualization technologies.

·         Knowledge on ESX server, VDI (virtual desktop implementation) Vsphere DRS (distributed resource scheduler) and application virtualization concepts.

·         Knowledge in Windows active directory concepts, domain administration, site replications, primary domain controller, Microsoft exchange, print server, server boot process and configuration and troubleshooting of DNS, DHCP, WINS, Disk quota, integration of active directory with DNS, DNS Zones etc.

·         Knowledge on Global catalogue, schema and FSMO roles, disaster recovery, routing RIS, dialup services in windows server, advanced troubleshooting skills on tools like SCCM, Altiris, Marimba, LANDesk etc. Used for patch, software, image, asset life cycle and catalogue management and  able to write queries and to generate reports from deployment tools like SCCM, Altiris, Marimba etc

·         Knowledge on device management tools like afaria, mobicontrol, Zenprise, etc. used to manage mobility devices Tools Usage. Ticketing Tools : Remedy

·         End user data backup Tools: USMT, WET, etc.

·         Remote Control Tools : VNC, Windows Remote Assistance, Apple

·         Knowledge on Installing and troubleshooting of MAC operating system, configuration of plug and play devices, applications, network, services file and folder permissions , OS performance etc. on Macintosh operating system.

·         Knowledge on Hardware requirements for Macintosh operating system, experience on Casper tool to manage the updates ,patch ,application and image management for Macintosh operating system

·         Knowledge on windows 7 Hardware requirements, features, configuration of plug and play devices, virtual concepts and different technologies used in virtualization Knowledge on Virtual desktop implementation (VDI),building VM's with standardized OS images and different virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV)Knowledge on performance monitoring o fVirtual machines via Vsphere Vcenter.

·         Knowledge on virtual infrastructure, virtual center, VM access control, resource management, backup and restore of Knowledge on ESX server, VDI Vsphere DRS and application virtualization concepts
