Did you verify that those colonies were actually P. vortex of P. dendritiformis, and not the very common soil bacteria Bacillus mycoides?
As always take care as some of these spore formers are not so innocuous primarily B. cereus and B. anthracis so be sure to autoclave the plates when finished.I wish I could send one but, being they were isolated by a private business it would not be allowed.
Heh! Interesting that you are more worried about mail regulations than with the fact that this kind of isolation from environmental samples is really supposed to be done in a biosafety level 2 lab! :-)
