Hadoop Administrator – Financial in NYC
Candidates must be local and available for a F2F interview.
Financial industry experience preferred
Description
Manage several Hadoop clusters in development and production environments
Monitoring and troubleshooting of hardware and software services
Install new software releases, system upgrades, patches, and evaluation of stability
Tuning of servers, applications and Hadoop infrastructure
Work with users, engineering groups, and vendor support for troubleshooting
Qualifications
Strong UNIX/Linux knowledge including the ability to understand the interaction between applications, HW, and operating system and to provide recommendations and suggestions related to troubleshooting and performance improvement
Experience with the Cloudera hadoop distribution
Experience with Hive, MapReduce, YARN, Spark, Sentry, Oozie, Sqoop, Flume, HBase, Impala, etc.
Experience troubleshooting applications and application code
Experience with cluster maintenance tasks such as creation and removal of nodes, cluster monitoring and troubleshooting
Strong experience in Unix Shell, perl, and python scripting
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, SQL
Experience with ETL and BI tools
Kerberos experience a plus
