Sr Business System Analyst

Marina Del Rey, CA (90066)

6+ month contract

Local candidates preferred but can do a Skype/Phone interview.

Must have excellent communication skills and no more than a 3 page resume.

Candidates must also have worked at an Internet or High Tech Company.

Senior BSA role

Seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to work on medium and large projects with minimal supervision.  Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be highly organized to be able to work directly with both business and IT team members as well as hands on experience analyzing data / data models and using SQL Server with minimal supervision. 

Responsibilities:

•             Conduct interviews and other requirements gathering with business staff and stakeholders to identify root requirements and business needs.

•             Review, analyze, design and create detailed functional specifications of business systems, business processes, and user needs, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop the target IT solutions.

•             Identify business process improvement opportunities and recommendations.

•             Work as part of IT on business process solutions, data collection, data integration and complex financial calculations.

•             Interpret and effectively explain business, functional and technical requirements for specified applications to IT developers, QA, managers, business leads and stakeholders.

•             Collect, analyze, assess, and communicate scope change requests with business and IT stakeholders.

•             Create or support creation of test plans and test cases.

•             Perform initial testing including any intensive data testing before applications reach the QA team.

•             Prepare plans, create materials, and conduct sessions related to user training

•             Develop SQL queries and design detailed dataflow processes.

•             Assist in "sprint" management and grooming backlogs.

•             Communicate issues, challenges, and blockers with recommended solutions to management as they arise.

Requirements:

•             Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

•             Candidates must have worked at an Internet or High Tech Company.

•             4 years experience in a business systems analysis role, working with both business and IT team members.

•             2 years experience using SQL required (any RDBMS).

•             1 year experience creating data modeling diagrams, data flows, or using data modeling tools.

•             Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•             Very strong analytical skills, including data analysis required.

•             Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills & problem solving skills required.

•             Must be detail oriented; a self-starter and self-motivated.

•             Must be highly organized, able to multitask, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

•             Hands on knowledge of MS SQL Server, MS SSIS and/or MS SSRS a plus.

•             Knowledge of Investment Management or Stock Market Data a plus.

•             Experience as a developer and/or in a QA role a plus.
