Business Object Developer

NYC,NY

Candidates must be local and available for a F2F interview. 

Candidates must have healthcare experience. 

Business Objects Developer:

This person will create technical design specs for universes and reports, develop universes and reports, perform testing, develop user guides and perform end user training. The candidate must be able to work independently and in a team setting. They will support reporting efforts in Healthcare related data Warehouse

Essential Duties, Responsibilities:

• Work as a Technical Developer delivering solution and meeting business needs for Business Intelligence·
• In-depth experience designing and developing Business Objects Universes
• Synthesize the analysis work with the characteristics of the existing data warehouse and Reporting infrastructure, to derive the appropriate technical approach for data storage, mining and dissemination·
• Collaborate with universe developers to design BO reporting universes. Good understanding of contexts, aggregate awareness and universe linking, integration of data and follow Healthcare data related standards and procedures
• Work with business users to create reporting templates and mock ups.
• Document business requirements and carry out sign-off with appropriate business stakeholders
• Understand business requirements and translate them into functional requirements;
• Verify the application matches requirements and ensure the application meets end user expectations·
• Document solution design and maintenance of ongoing solution·
• The candidate may also potentially carry out development in a relational database/data warehouse environment
• Debug and solve problems by tracing from the report all the way to the source
• Deploy BI solutions in support of change requests or new development efforts
• Perform regular maintenance on Universes for performance
• Maintain front-end security of data
• Provide user support for data issues
• Install software as required
• Provide follow-on support for end-users after training

Education and Experience:

·        Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field

·        Healthcare related experience

·        Excellent SQL skills

·        At least 8 years of total IT experience with at least 5 years of Business Objects experience

·        Excellent communications skills
