UX/UI Visual Designer

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 1+Year Contract

 

Duties:

 

Client is seeking a Visual Designer to design the next generation of Client's Network Management and Cloud software.  We transform highly complex data and workflows into simple, easy experiences.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Design UI that is simple, modern and delightful to support new features that meet product requirements and respect engineering capabilities.

·         Accountable for visual design deliverables, ensuring the work is of highest quality and delivered in a timely manner

·         Ability to successfully drive and apply user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams

·         Proactively engage to help other team members on time-sensitive and critical projects

·         Effectively communicate design rationale to internal leaders and stakeholders

·         Makes design decisions driven by research, business requirements, technical specifications and moreover, strong design sensibilities

·         Provide critical feedback in reviews with peers

·         Work closely with other Lead/Principal Designers to provide guidance for the overall visual language for page layout, site navigation, icons, button styles, forms and "widgets"

·         Partner with the internal brand team on visual direction and implementation of visual design elements

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         8+ years experience of web visual design experience with strong design skills (layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns) and a great attention to detail

·         Some experience with interaction design is highly desired

·         Creative and pragmatic problem solver

·         Successful track record of delivering integrated high end user interfaces on schedule, on budget, and on quality.

·         Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skills

·         Well-rounded understanding of Web usability best practices

·         Ability to solicit and incorporate diverse perspectives

·         Ability to effectively leverage junior/senior members of the team to increase your overall contribution

·         Ability to switch easily between different projects, and flexibility to handle rapidly changing environments

·         Ability to create detailed visual guidelines for the standard and communicate to development team

·         B.A./B.S. degree required, Graphic Design or a related field a plus

·         Online portfolio required

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

·         Deep knowledge of user center design processes and methodology

·         High-level of proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools such as Axure, InDesign, etc

·         Good understanding of interactive web technologies (HTML/CSS, DHTML, JavaScript, Ajax etc)

·         Keeps up-to-date on industry trends

·         Has experience with mobile and/or responsive web design.

·         Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and end user requirements
