ICANNs decision on allocating the .bio namespace verges on the corrupt on this.
The link between .bio and organic food is tenuous at best.
It is analogous to giving the .child namespace to a registrar startup who wants to sell names to educational institutions. There are a lot of child based industries that decision would cut out. As with this .bio decision.

They really need to work on their communication processes - names have other stakeholders than just registrars!

Ugh, why don't these people understand that GMO can be 100% organic??? I might say it could even be SUPER-ORGANIC, since organic foods have a laundry list of allowed chemicals.
