[DIYbio] Positive control for GMO foods?

Hi folks,

I'm about to order some PCR primers that should let me detect the CaMV
35s promoter, a viral promoter that's very commonly used in making GM
crops for food use. The idea, obviously, is a PCR-based test for foods
containing GMOs. Er, or crops that just happen to have been infected
by that virus, but I think it's limited to the cabbage family.

I'm struggling to think of a positive control that I can use in my
assay. I found a list of approved GM crops for the EU [1], but it's a
bit opaque. Does anyone have any pointers toward GM crops or GMO-
derived foods that I can buy in the UK?

Many thanks,
Bugs
