I was just wondering the following:
This is my favorite yeast integrration vector. https://www.neb.com/products/n3742-pklac2-vector
Instead of containing an antibiotic resistance marker it gets an enzyme to break up acetamide, which is the only nitrogen source, so only transformed cells can grow.
Is this possible to use in plants? I mean, tissue culture seems quite difficult to do, with very tight limits for hormones, nutrients. But just maybe, this could produce antibiotic-marker free plants. But very likely you would need new protocols to achieve it...
