Responsibilities:
The person selected for this position will be involved in the establishment of an Item Master File and implementation of processes to enable its use within a service provider environment. The Item Master File comprises the information that is used to classify, procure and organize all network and non-network items which are utilized by the service provider in day-to-day activities. The person will be required to develop and deliver a solution according to agreed activities. This includes delivering on work packages and, coordinating their work efforts with other team members and the client according to an agreed project plan.
The solution will include the development and design of the Item Master naming, schema and related master data attributes. In addition, the needed Master Data Governance must be defined together with the processes needed to support via a review of the present mode of operation and, identification and elimination of current deficiencies.
The solution will leverage existing capabilities including; Common Language® Equipment Identification, a Local Data Repository of asset information and resident consulting capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
We are looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of the use of item master information within a telecommunications service provider or an asset intensive services industry that has a comparable diversity of items. The candidate must have "hands-on" experience with undertaking activities associated with establishing and maintaining an Item Master File comprising assets, expenses items and services. Knowledge of and the ability to design and update the item master as well as processes for the addition, change and removal of items is critical. Understanding underlying network technology and equipment of a telecommunications service provider would also be beneficial.
The person must be self-motivated and proficient in researching new trends in item management and the data analytics that master data can enable. Excellent client facing and communication skills are critical for this role as well as the ability to travel and work at customer locations outside of USA. Candidates must have the ability to be a lead technical consultant on a project and may also lead a team of colleagues.
Candidate must have the following:
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant area (e.g. Telecommunications, Business)
• 10+ years overall experience and 5 years direct work experience in establishing and using master information
• Understanding of the use of Item Master information within an asset intensive industry
• Experience in the developing and applying naming standards to items and their categories
• Experience in developing Data Governance policies for the effective management of item master data
• Experience in creating methods and procedures for the management of master data
• General knowledge of telecommunications asset lifecycle management
• Ability to interface with all levels of client management
• Ability to interface with technology, operation and financial counterparts within a customer environment
• Knowledge of ERP systems and their use with a telecommunications service provider
• Ability to work in team settings with customers and other client partners
• Ability to travel > 50% of the time, based on project needs, to the Middle East
Additional Skills:
Knowledge of ORACLE e-Business Suite product set or similar
Functional knowledge of network technology and equipment of a telecommunications service provider
