The blue one seems to have 2 parts, one "opaque" thin sheet, and a 1/8 in thick
part that may or not be blue... Is any more tear down and closer photos
possible Mac?

It looks easy to make a kit -- from my perspective, if I had enough pre-orders, or
as part of a group acting with tenets and goals like the
wikispeed.com car development group.

As in number of boards? That could be reduced if you let the form factor grow
a little thicker somewhere. They utilized empty space left after a fancy-looking industrial-design
of the shell -- so the arrangement of boards gets complicated.

(Meredith's electroporator/electrophoresis-HV-supply wish again..)

Ya mean me? Shoo-wa, as they say in Brooklyn.
Who else wants to help?
Who wants to sign up on the kickstarter campaign for it at $190/unit
sized similar 9cm width, and maybe a little thicker brick, same 18 or so cm length?
Who wants to help figure out the feature list for it?
Should it be compatible with invitrogen cassettes? Would that trigger a letter from
their lawyers?
Is the portable battery pack attaching to the container needed, or is it
OK to have a battery pack in line with the DC supply in?
(the e-gel go uses a wall wart for DC in)
Is a thinner amber lid/filter wanted for use on a flatbed scanner? (I would think yes..)
Then it might get most use upside down on a flatbed scanner with the scan light unplugged!
Could the form be ipad sized instead of brick like? The electronics could be offset from
the cassette instead of wraparound then -- a simplification probably...
