I really just want a solid HV power supply... Voltage and current
control with banana plugs. I don't want PWMed power to 'simulate'
lower voltages (though having the ability to PWM and reverse the
polarity would be ideal for some experiments). I don't care if there
is a display or knobs, that could just as well be done via serial
control, etc...
While not a DIY solution, if you check ebay regularly you can usually come across an electrophoresis power supply for < $100. LAB has been working on an all-in-one DIY electrophoresis kit for a bit, but we've stalled a bit on the power supply.
