a view days ago I saw a report about synhtetic biology, biobricks and diybio. As an engineer i am very much excited about the fact that in future (or even today) you can handle genes just like handeling electronic components and you can program them for every purpose.
To introduce myself, I am working as an electrical engineer for a little startup-company in saxony, that researches, develops and manufactures systems for water treatment and biological reactors (ie sewage treatment). The Idea to use biobricks to enhance the efficiency of water treatment is very exciting. So I will check the DIYbio-website for any news about the bricks of the future. We are also interested in brainstorming and coworking with other enthusiasts in this field. Thats all for now.
Cheers
Jens
