[DIYbio] Re: Methodology help needed - how to measure nail light absorbance

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy can be used to identify and treat nail fungal infections. I came across some information on it while I was researching my budget LIBS project. I ended up using a surplus range finding laser from an M1 tank, which is a flash pumped Nd:YAG laser. It has excellent nail penetration so you could measure the different layers of the nail with minimal interference from the surrounding tissue. If you are interested I will dig up the article I found which referenced it.
