[DIYbio] SENS Research Foundation summer internships

This may be of interest to some of the folk here, or people that you know; a
chance for undergrads and recent grads to do some interesting work on the
biology of aging (and what to do about it) at one of a number of noteworthy
labs. Note that the deadline for people outside the US is already past,
sadly.

now-online

The application for SENS Research Foundation's 2013 summer internship
program is now online.

This year, we will be placing interns at four locations: our own SRF
Research Center in Mountain View, CA; the Buck Institute for Research on
Aging in Novato, CA; the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in
Winston-Salem, NC; and SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. The
program is intended for college undergraduates and recent graduates, and
will involve nearly full-time lab work. Students can expect to learn and use
a variety of techniques such as PCR, western blotting, DNA purification, gel
electrophoresis, and many others. Since no two interns will be on the same
project, each will be learning different techniques and processes.

The application deadline for our program is March 31, 2013 at 11:00 PM PST.
However, we have an earlier application deadline for our positions at SUNY
Upstate: February 24, 2013 at 11:00 PM PST. We will only be able to accept
international applications for SUNY Upstate; regrettably, we will not be
able to bring international applicants to the other campuses.

And worth noting that the SRF has a recent (few days ago) site redesign; if
you haven't been past in a while, take a look at the new content:
