Dear members of the Tecan Programming Group,
Some of you have already made the trip to http://lrig.org and joined the new home for the Tecan Programming Group there - thank you! For the rest of you, please come on over! We're still getting folks joining this YahooGroup so we're going to shut off new memberships and posting. We'll put a notice on the Home page to let interested parties know about the LRIG site.
This Tecan Programming Group has been extremely successful since 2002 with almost 700 messages. There are currently 447 subscribers and discussion and sharing is very active. The group is THE forum for new and experienced laboratory automation professionals to go to for Tecan Programming expert assistance and information.
The Laboratory Robotics Interest Group (LRIG) which moderates this group is excited to announce that we have a new web site, myLRIG, at http://lrig.org
myLRIG is the new home for LRIG on the web. Please register as a new member even if you had a membership in the old site - in this way you can be sure your profile is completely up to date. We are still in development so please excuse any bumps in the road! After you register and login, take some time to look around and see what the chapters are doing, join a discussion group, or look for a colleague with similar interests. If you want to let us know what you think of the site or how to make it better, leave a message through the Contact Us link.
We have created the community "LRIG User Group - Companies: Tecan Programming" which you may find under "User Groups" in the top menu bar. That is the new home for this community.
Membership in LRIG and access to myLRIG is free. When you get to myLRIG just select the "Login to see members only content" link and create an account.
Check out the User Groups sections. We've made a new home for the previously YahooGroups based LRIG Discussion List and this Tecan Programming community, and have added several more at member's requests. Keep the suggestions coming!
Our criteria for discussion group functionality was to be a superset of YahooGroups, retaining all the good features such as having messages pushed out to email and/or read on the web, real time and digest modes for the email push, file and image uploads, and fully searchable archives. One feature we wanted to lose was the necessity to register for a Yahoo account to do anything on the web including view archived messages, change your settings, search the archives. On myLRIG, with a single sign-in you will be able to access all LRIG chapters, forums, career center, discussions, and user groups.
YahooGroups is a fine venue but we believe you will enjoy the greater control and ease of interface at myLRIG. We hope you will also find the interactive aspects and access to the greater community of myLRIG enhances your member experience.
We have uploaded an archive of all the messages posted since 2002 along with the uploaded files. The messages and file archives on myLRIG are fully searchable. Before we finally close this group, we will be sure the most recent posts and file are archived as well.
If you have any questions you can message me through the myLRIG site or email at andy.zaayenga@lrig.org.
Thank you!
Andy Zaayenga, Moderator
