Those have a cascade of compressors -- 3 maybe.

Sounds like the heat transfer between stages is messed up. If it stops after going a while,
maybe a stage has water condensation freezing stopping it. Could be bad insulation,
could be the aftermath of a repair with not so good insulation replacement.
