That definition is overly broad, because it would include anything that could harm humans in any way.  Since humans are biological entities, any harm that comes to us will by definition affect our biology ;-)  Biosecurity would be about securing humans from biological harm as opposed to physical, chemical, psychological, etc. harm.  While the biological systems of the worker in the article were affected, the source of the damage was chemical rather than biological.
