Depends on what you have. If you can weld etc. Then thats one way, but I recently saw some real laminar flow hoods on sale for 500 used.

I know the big panel filters are at least $100-150 USD, and a copper
or stainless grating is probably a good (but not cheap) idea for a
vent to protect the filter or cover the air duct.
