JOB DESCRIPTION:  

The Software Development Engineer is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle for new and existing programs.

The position involves daily interaction with other team members and members of other departments within the company to deliver a quality product in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Designs, modifies, implements, and documents software application changes.

• Provides estimations of work based on knowledge and experience in a given work area.

• Writes product specifications, designs, and technical manuals.

• Ensure interoperability with third party products, operating systems, and existing software

• Acts as a Mentor for junior engineers. • Maintains responsibility of assigned tasks by using experience and knowledge of environment to make development decisions

• Other job related duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelors' degree in a related area (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience.

• 3+ years of experience developing applications for a Windows operating system platform

• 3+ years of experience in developing applications using C++, C# and .Net framework

• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills

• Visual Studio 2005/2008

• Team Systems

• Microsoft Win32 API (SDK)

• Microsoft SQL Server and ODBC

• Extensible Markup Language (XML)

• TCP/IP Socket level communications

Preferred Experience:

• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft development software and tools (Visual Studio)

• 1+ years of experience developing object oriented solutions

• 1+ years of experience in developing applications using Microsoft VS C++ or C#

• Basic knowledge of database design and query language (i.e. MS SQL)

• Hospitality experience within a leading food service and/or lodging organization preferred Training: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MSCD) certification desired
