Role : Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Location : NYC

GC or CITIZEN only

Primary Responsibilities include:

Primary responsibilities will be to provide operational DBA support activities for the CITYTIME application. Activities will include monitoring and support of production and test environments, support of code migrations, DDL changes, data changes, database performance and tuning, data refreshes of test environments, streams, backup and recovery, installation and patching of Oracle software, and general administration of Oracle databases for the City of New York.

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of Oracle database administration on a Unix Sun/Solaris and AIX environment.

- Strong experience with Oracle Streaming, Replication and ETL process.

- Strong experience with Oracle ASM storage management.

- Strong experience with Oracle RAC implementations.

- Strong experience with SQL coding and tuning.

- Experience with Oracle 11G, Oracle RAC, Oracle Grid, RMAN, Unix Shell scripting, database tuning, and configuration.

- Individual will be required to provide production 24/7 coverage on rotating shift and support weekend implementations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation

• Experience working with Implementations in a government or civil service environment.

• Excellent Communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required

• Experience working within a matrix environment

Education:

Bachelor's or Masters degree in a technical/business discipline or 2-4 years practical technical/business experience.
