Must-haves
· Oracle Database Architect experience
· Hardware experience with HP, IBM or SUN
· Experience migrating one Datacenter to another
· 5-7 years of experience in Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 environment
· UNIX operating systems and shell scripting
· Ability to optimizedatabase
· Experienced with Oracle through 11G Release 2.
· Proficiency with partitioning, advanced queuing, distributed transactions, materialized views/snapshots, etc.
· Experience with OEM, or other monitoring tools
· Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL programming, (write, debug ,tune packages, procedures and functions)
Plusses
· Experience with SQL Net
· Experience with ASM, SAN/NAS storage technologies such as EMC, NetApp, and ZFS.

Day-to-Day
This position requires master level competencies in multiple database practices. Addresses database requirements during conceptual design. Creates data flow designs for single and enterprise data distribution. Identify issue or improvement, analyze, create requirements and recommend appropriate solutions. This team will be moving to a new data center and then rehosting the applications. The new database is oracle ATG which is a service oriented architecture. This person will be moving applications and making suggestions on how to improve the move. They will help optimize the database and fix the database. We are looking for someone who can think on the strategic level.
You will identify database performance and capacity requirements; pre and post production. Collaborate with systems architects, developers, and software engineers to build sustainable systems that meet service levels agreements. The Architect will demonstrate Oracle database experience at the mastery level with implementation, maintenance, configuration, replication, design/architecture, performance tuning, security and fault tolerance. Including but not limited to; Display strong inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills. This position requires strong presentation skills. Able to convey complex designs to a non-technical audience, write and maintain documentation describing requirements, detailed design and construction, research solutions for various business and technical problems, evaluate alternatives and be able to present options, recommendations, and justifications to aid management in purchase decisions, understand, apply and document advanced database administration, management and performance tuning techniques, provide advanced technical troubleshooting for applications and database systems with emphasis on root cause analysis, participate in design and application review sessions, providing database best-practices, configure and tune hardware and software to insure optimum performance and resource utilization, evaluate database and software requirements and influence design decisions, participate in meetings and conference calls related to project and troubleshooting activities. Must have ability to conduct technology feasibility studies, i.e. RFP, RFQ.
