[DIYbio] Re: AnyonE can point me in the basic direction of DNA reading

Could you tell a bit more detail about  what you wanna do?
Do you want to make something like a paternity test?

You probably would send the two DNA fragments you want to investigate to a sequencing company and read them for 7,50€ (1000 bp).

If you tell where you are from, maybe there is someone near you which has experience. Or even a community lab.

What would I need to successfully find matching alleles or protein codes within two strains of DNA?  Would I need a centrifuge, and a PCR machine?  What are the tools I need to be looking at?  As well as some good books to devour on the topic.  A million thanks!
