--I am renewing a license for SnapGene software for 10 annual licenses for $1000. I got these for Biocurious members last year and have 5 licenses available for renewal at $100 each. I wanted to let to the DIYbio community know in case anyone might be interested taking advantage of this low price. SnapGene is an excellent product if you want to simulate PCR, ligation, Gibson Assembly, mutagenisis, do primer design, etc. After I design primers, I run the PCR in SnapGene to verify I have the right product before ordering primers. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing a license for the full product for one year for $100. The license will start on 1/31/14 and include all updates released during the year. Runs on Mac and Windows. http://www.snapgene.com
Thanks,
-jay

Re: [DIYbio] SnapGene

SnapGene is indeed very cool but I prefer SerialCloner since it is open source and this is an enormous advantage for DIYBIOers. Moreover it does averithing you need, PCR, primer design, homologous recombination, digestion and ligation and it can even simulate electrophoresis runs.
Is there any way to get free license for students of no-profit organizations?
Best,
