Job Title: Senior Network Architect

Description:
The preferred candidate will provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of wide area networks (WANs) to support business initiatives across UTC's business units.
Typical responsibilities include:
Ø Design and implementation of network infrastructure projects supporting all of UTC's business units
Ø Perform network analysis and planning
Ø Manage the development of procedures for installation and troubleshooting of network hardware or software
Ø Create network design packages and update documentation to reflect as-built configurations
Ø Partner with customers, vendors, and technology groups to understand network requirements, and create optimal solutions
Ø Research and evaluate new technologies and their potential to improve UTC's network environment
Ø Participate in technical RFP creation, evaluation, and vendor selection process
Ø Provide 3rd-tier support for critical network problems on a rotational on-call basis
Ø Advanced experience with WAN and LAN technologies, such as MPLS, Ethernet, WAN acceleration/optimization
Ø Advanced experience with routing protocols such as BGP and EIGRP
Ø Proficient in creating and troubleshooting access control lists (ACLs)
Ø Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ø Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and to adapt in a fast-paced work environment
Ø Experience analyzing packet captures to troubleshoot problems using Wireshark or similar packet capture utilities
Ø Fundamental understanding of proper data center and network design principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Ø 7-10 years of direct networking experience is required
Ø CCIE or equivalent expert-level networking certification is preferred. - Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
Ø Experience with Network Access Control (NAC)
Ø Knowledge of VoIP & collaboration solutions
Ø Knowledge of network monitoring and management platforms (such as CA Spectrum, eHealth)
Ø Exposure to security technologies (such as IDS/IPS, next-generation firewalls, or IPsec)
Ø Programming or scripting experience
Ø Advanced/professional-level Cisco certifications (CCIE or CCNP)
Ø Experience with Cisco LAN switches
Ø Experience with IPv6
Ø Undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Information Technology
