This position is responsible for performing analysis and operational support for PWI Software Release Engineering Practice. The PWI Release Engineering team provides build and software version control support to the PWI technology community and their respective customers.
Position Description
The PWI Software Release Engineering group has a position available for a qualified Release Engineer. Regular responsibilities for this role will include supporting the development process including software builds and development software configuration in a UNIX/Linux, VMware and Windows environment, developing basic UNIX tools to improve personal and developer productivity and responding to developer questions related to their ClearCase, BuildForge, Atlessian Stash/Git, and Jenkins environment.
Primary Responsibilities
PWI Release Engineering team supports over 2000 developers distributed across the globe. This team is required to support and remediate any source code management related issues that the development may be experiencing with specific focus on avoiding down time.
Candidates should have working knowledge in ClearCase, CCRC, ClearCase Multisite Administration, BuildForge 8.x, Git, Jenkins, and MS TFS administration to support software developers. Experience with Linux and basic UNIX tools/script development in Perl/ksh/Groovy. Programming knowledge with Java and JSP will be beneficial. Candidates should have familiarity with ANT, Maven and Nexus. He or she will support developers in implementing the policies by writing the Triggers, Hooks in Perl, Shell and Java Scripts. Additionally, this person will develop and enhance ANT/NANT/Maven Scripts, and use it in the BuildForge and Jenkins Applications
Qualifications
BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience on technical projects; experience with analysis and project management
4+ years of experience with ClearCase administration/support
1+ years of experience with distributed version control system such as Git
Strong analysis with supporting tools i.e. Microsoft Excel or Access
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Robust organizational skills
Excellent relationship management skills
Self-motivated individual contributor
Drive SCM best practices
Ability to multi-task and juggle changing workloads and priorities
Skills and Knowledge:
Effectively communicate with various levels of the organization and in multi geographic areas of the firm
Understanding of software development process from beginning to end
Ability to document current processes
Ability to follow currently documented processes
Ability to train the developers in team tools best practices and processes
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to multitask
Ability to work in a production operation environment
Oracle backend database to support all Rational Applications
Eclipse/RAD experience
UNIX Administration
