Hey guys and gals,
I have a question about that old school strawberry DNA extraction using soap, salt, and rubbing alcohol. What other components would precipitate or float out during the last step? I was always curious about this experiment's DNA yield but never got a chance to qubit it since the visible debris may give a poor reading. The white stuff floating on top would be some proteins, small connective tissues and cellular debris, low density compounds, and a very low amount of actual DNA, no?
