Role QA software testing (2 positions available)

Location Princeton, NJ (Candidate Must Be Local)

Duration 6+ month

Client: ETS

Rate $45/hr

 

Position Summary:

 

The Software QA Analyst is responsible for the creation and implementation of testing procedures that ensure the integrity and quality of software systems released into production. This role provides expert technical leadership for software testing projects and operations. The Software QA Analyst works closely with business analysts, software developers, and other stakeholders in all phases of the software development life cycle to ensure that all internally developed software is free from defects, complies with functional specifications and meets or exceeds end-user requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Control and manage daily test activities for assigned area or applications
• Participate in functional and integration testing, lead service expansion into security, usability and operability testing
• Participate in  the creation of detailed test cases and scripts for technical and or business clients
• Employ testing criteria in the review and approval of business requirements, functional specifications, and systems design
• Design and ensure overall integrity of the testing strategy
• Provide timely and relevant communication on test findings to key stakeholders
• Identify and prepare the appropriate data for testing, and prepare that data for the test cases in partnership with business and technology leads
• Oversee development of functions related to test analysis, scripting and execution
• Design, develop and execute test plans, test cases, and manual and automated test scripts
• Work with business and technology departments to identify the appropriate data for testing, and prepare that data for the test cases
• Assess risks to quality by applying various verification and validation techniques
• Identify risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Develop and implement QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered applications
• Ensure that all interfacing applications and required support teams are involved in each release from a testing perspective
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert on service level risks / issues
• Work with Development to mitigate defect escalations and rejections
• Participate in the Quarterly Root Cause Analysis Reporting Review
• Participate in  functional and integration testing, lead service expansion into security, usability and operability testing
• Develop process improvements for Software QA and SDLC processes and procedures

The systems development life cycle (SDLC) model is an approach to developing an information system or software product that is characterized by a linear sequence of steps that progress from start to finish without revisiting any previous step.
Troubleshooting  Troubleshooting is the ability to identify and correct problems with products, processes, equipment, software or other components, as well as their monitoring and regulating.
QA Best Practices  Best Practices refers to one or more sets of refined policies, procedures, processes, techniques, tools and methodologies that have been optimized for efficiency and effectiveness, and adopted within the organization.
QA Standards and Procedures  The knowledge, adherence and updating of standards and procedures associated with a particular area of focus.
QA Reviews and Inspections  Quality Assurance Reviews & Inspections is a systematic process of checking to see whether a product or service being developed is meeting specified requirements.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS -
Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:
• Bachelor’s degree with extensive coursework in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
• Industry QA or Software Testing professional certifications
SAHI knowledge a plus
• Experience with SOAP UI a plus
Relevant Years of Experience Required:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as QA software testing teams and projects

Other Requirements:
• Excellent understanding of quality assurance processes and testing methodology
• Knowledge of the entire software development process (SDLC)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Thorough knowledge of test planning and operations
• Demonstrated experience creating effective test plans and metrics
• Prior experience in conducting risk assessments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
