Summary Description:
As a DA Test Engineer, you will be responsible for working with the Teradata Dual Active Test Engineering team in developing and executing test plans, procedures and technologies for Teradata Dual Active products. You will have designed and implemented testing processes (including functional, regression and load-testing) required to ensure a successful product development via Agile methodology.
You will be well versed in working in and contributing to a fully agile and automated development and testing process.
This position will be a member of the Teradata DA Test team responsible for testing and maintaining the Unity software for the Teradata Dual Active program. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, creative, experienced software test engineer who is ready to contribute to the success of Teradata.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Participate in the test engineering efforts in building a state-of-the-art test framework and process from the ground up
Create and execute complex, multi-platform test plans and procedures, simulate dual active data warehouse environments and failure-recovery conditions & to ensure complete product coverage
Participate in Agile development process and focus on test automation and software quality efforts
Develop and integrate regression test framework to implement load and performance testing techniques
Analyze and troubleshoot issues and tests; analyze product resource utilization and recommend alternatives to improve performance
Design and develop test cases to verify product operation and interoperability, including performance assessments and failover/recovery strategies
Assist product engineers in identification and resolution of product defects
Provide recommendations/suggestions for improving testing efficiency
Collaborate effectively with development and QA engineers

The successful candidate will have the ability to take lead with project tasks and share/transfer knowledge with fellow team members. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of best agile practices, as well as experience implementing scenarios in Linux Operating System.
Qualifications
Requirements:
BS, CS or relevant, related experience in the following:
Software test and/or engineering experience (2-5 years), with strong test development background in Linux
Data warehousing environment and test methodologies including SQL experience
In-depth understanding with some experience in an Agile development environment
In-depth knowledge and some experience in Quality Assurance methodologies
Experience with web based technologies including HTTP, browsers and related testing helpful
Some ETL knowledge helpful
Preferences
Experience in an Agile development process, such as XP and/or Scrum
Experience with Confluence, Jira, Subversion, Clover, TestNG a plus
Should be comfortable on various operating systems, including Linux and Windows
Experience in RDBMS technologies
