Role Solution Architect 2
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Provides design leadership, guidance and assistance in designing and applying the architecture to oversee the integration process for projects within the Health Plan.
Leads and guides the development of various elements of the solutions architecture.
Solicits input from IT and the business as a part of solutions architecture development.
Helps to define and evolve developer roles and responsibilities at the Health Plan in order to ensure a greater understanding of best practices.
Disseminates knowledge within Health Plan IT on design principles and implementation techniques via published papers and/or presentations.
Oversees the creation, development and ratification of engineering and development standards.
Mentors and assists engineering and development staff in doing so.
Works with Data Analysts to ensure implementation of Health Plan data model within designed solutions.
Facilitates and drive the design review board process to maintain disciplines and high quality in the EHP technology and solutions environment.

Leads solutions architecture efforts that drive projects that span multiple technology and business areas.
Facilitates components of the design review board process to maintain standards, disciplines and high quality in the EHP technology and solutions environment.
1) What are the responsibilities of this individual? The primary role is to create architecture compliant solution designs that meet / exceed the business needs of our customers. Taking into account any current architecture principles, technical standards, and system constraints architect a set of solutions, score their compliance/alignment, and promote architecturally aligned answers. This job requires a strong integration/architecture background for a buy over build style environment, focus on data integration, and a good consulting mindset/presentation. 2) What does a typical day look like? A typical day will involve leading and driving conversations needed to architect solutions for a specific assignment. An architect will typically spend a couple of hours meeting with project team members, other architecture team members, and technology teams to build solutions, alternatives, and then drive consensus. An architect will also participate in the governance bodies/processes that drive standards and strategies. The architect will spend their time integrating the various aspects of technology into concise design/architecture documentation which they will share, review, and revise with various stake holders and team members. Architect will also participate in design reviews for other solutions. Architect will likely participate in more than 1 project at a time.
