[DIYbio] brewing parts for bioreactors?

Just noticed a nicely engineered fermenter on KS in NZ. Somehow they can ship it for $50 to the US...

What strikes me is the standard fitting, called a tri-clamp, could be good for scaling down to small bioreactor sizes.
That clamp is a flared/flanged end on an exit tube in a roto-molded smooth-walled container. That shape is a 3D saddle, or
compound curve -- not easy to make a mold that comes off of the molded shape without stretching -- needs multiple pieces of mold
separating.

It's just something to ponder -- how to avoid all that rotomolding cost, have compound curves, and inexpensive mold tooling too?
