Re: [DIYbio] Microfluidics of single bacteria?

Hi Ana,

I know someone who did this to watch some Xylella fastidiosa swimming.
This bacteria have a veeeery slow life cycle - and have a low motility as well. So this guy acomplished doing this for long periods of time, in the order of days. He built a single channel mimicking the phloem of trees - this bacteria is phytopathogenic.

If your are interested I could put you in contact.

But first, what you are planning to do? Bacteria swimming competition? (kidding)
Share a bit more what's the big plan!

Best,
Otto

Hi DIYbio community!
I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a high-throughput microfluidic chip for long term time-lapse microscopy of individual bacteria.
Most chips I come across are intended to monitor the growth of bacterial communities. I want to monitor individual bacteria.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Best,
Ana
