the Open Bioinformatics Information has a cool travel fellowship for which the deadline is approaching on the 15th of August (COI: I'm on the board).
The fellowships of up to US $1,000 can be used for your travel to conferences related to open source and biology/bioinformatics and we're trying to give some focus on increasing diversity in the field.
