[DIYbio] Re: Positive control for GMO foods?

Hi. I daily perform gmo analyses on seeds.
I detect endogenous gene and p35S. Commonly I use an IRMM certified
positive control, such as a MON810 0.1% (it has a single copy of p35S)
The IRMM positive control is derived from gmo maize MON810 mixed with
negative maize. DNA must be extracted, obviously.
You can order it directly from
http://irmm.jrc.ec.europa.eu/reference_materials_catalogue/Pages/index.aspx
or in sigma aldrich.
