Well, if it is that easy, it must have occured in nature,
assuming it provides some advantange.
Therefore, I guess, it simply doesn't provide
an advantage for an organism to be able of lasing.
Nevertheless, this allows for the genetic engineering of
biological lasers, that are grown, instead of assembled,
with a self-"healing" (self-regenerating) medium.
