Job description:

DWH Architect will be a primary designer of the data warehouse.  Individual will be involved in selecting hardware and software tools and overseeing the development of data models, exact-transform-load scripts, metadata definition and models, queries and reports.

•                     Individual will lead the DWH Project ; design and development to deliver Data Model, Business Object Reports, dashboards

•                     Will assist the development of Logical and Physical data models

•                     Will be responsible for successful delivery of enterprise data modeling initiatives, providing technical knowledge to EDW team

•                     Responsible for resolving data and business inconsistencies

Job Requirements for Data Warehouse Architects

A data warehouse architect is expected to have prior warehouse building experience as well as

•                     Experience with data modeling, database administration, various operating platforms

•                     Metadata management and familiarity with SQL, ETL and OLAP.

•                     The architect also needs to possess conceptual and analytical skills, knowledge of the business domain (insurance industry)  

•                     A minimum of ten to fifteen years of experience in data warehouse architecture and an ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

•                     Knowledge and hands-on experience in MS SQL Server

•                     Expert in Data Modeling using Erwin, Power Designer or similar tool

•                     Must be familiar with Ralph Kimball methodology

•                     High-level skills with data warehouse development tools such as Informatica , Datastage

•                     High-level skills with tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Cognos and/or Microstrategy

•                     Requires strong ability to work with business units in formulating business and data requirements

•                     Ability to work with database administrators on completing database designs and models

•                     Master degree in Computer Science or related area of study
