Job Description:

This candidate will work as a contributing member of our Truven Health Internet Delivery System (THIDS) platform and shared services teams. The THIDS team within the Healthcare business of Truven Health analytics is responsible for designing, developing, and launching a common platform for web based applications that assist our customers in making informed healthcare decisions.

This position is a senior technical position responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting multiple large scale databases in multiple environments. This position reports up through the Development organization, not Operations. The focus is on solid data development practices and activities. Some time may also be necessary to support Operations in their efforts to implement and support data solutions in Production or other customer facing environments.

Qualifications:

· 5+ years Oracle experience including Oracle RAC

· Database tuning, query optimization, and performance analysis

· Database modeling

· Capacity analysis and recommendations

· Ability to review and provide feedback on data solutions designed by developers

· Direct and/or implement backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover

· Install and test patches and upgrades

· Experience with security and encryption

· Evaluate and recommend new database technologies

· 5+ years experience developing commercial software applications in a structured environment

· Experience in developing high volume commercial web applications
