Job Description:
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Database Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards for current and future applications.
• Install, configure, administer and manage Database Services (Oracle 11g / SQL Server 2008 R2)
• Plan and implement Disaster Recovery solutions for database based on their availability tiers.
• Implement and maintain database security in both Oracle and SQL Server environments
• Perform SQL Server and Oracle database Backup, Restore and Recovery
• Participate in the capacity planning and usage of database server resources.
• Interact and coordinate work with System Administrators, Project Managers and fellow team members to support various project requests
• Design, test, implement, maintain and control the organization's physical, relational databases across multiple platforms and computing environments.
• Provide a periodic status of application, db security and performance.
• Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries
• Responsible for the ongoing tuning and optimizing of existing complex databases
• Responsible for deploying and maintaining database codes in multiple SQL Server and Oracle environments
• Responsible for debugging and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Provide support to development team on infrastructure and DBA tasks.
• Provide in-depth consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues in a timely and professional manner.
• May need to develop detailed data models and entity relationship diagrams.
• Develops and maintains a comprehensive library of all supporting documentation.
• Plan and upgrade database engines as released by database vendors.
