Role Windows Engineer

Location : New York City

Duration Long Term

This is a project-oriented server engineering role within a large, distributed enterprise organization. The scope for this role includes the firm's entire Windows

infrastructure, comprising 200,000 Windows desktops and 15,000 Windows servers. The ideal candidate will have deep technical experience that is complemented by excellent

writing and speaking skills. They should be well-versed in building high quality solutions within enterprise environments. They should work well both individually and with a team be able to work with minimal supervision.

Skills Required:

* Deep knowledge of Windows Server and related technologies

* Expertise with Windows infrastructure technologies (AD, DFS, Kerberos, Clustering)

* Expertise with PowerShell (PHP, Python, Perl, and Ruby also considered)

* Strong troubleshooting experience

* Experience performing Active Directory migrations

* Experience with the design and management of monitoring tools such as SCOM

* Excellent communication and written skills

* Experience creating detailed technical architecture blueprints

Skills Desired:

* Experience with non-Windows infrastructure products, such as MIT Kerberos, OpenLDAP and Apache server

* Working knowledge of network device management, i.e. switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers

* Experience with the Microsoft System Center family (CM, VMM, Orchestrator, etc.)

* Experience designing and managing configuration management & automation tools (i.e. Powershell DSC, Chef, Puppet)

* Experience designing and managing Hyper-V (or VMWare ESX) and related management infrastructure

* Windows Development experience (.NET, C#, Java, etc.)

* Knowledge of common IT processes, including ITIL and SDLC
