Re: [DIYbio] Experiments for PCR at home or school education

Why not try plant barcoding. If you have a pcr machine and gel box, buy some taq master mix off ebay, ship primers to a local business or school from life technologies value oligos, and send extract genomic dna from local plants, run the barcoding primers, extract the amplified dna, and send it to the dna barcoding initiative for sequencing. The do huge discounts for schools IIRC.

Hi everybody,

I wonder if there are any step by step experiments available on the internet, what to do with a PCR and a gel electrophoresis.
Any school experiments available like for example DNA barcoding and other things?

Thank you :)
